Excellent, the biggest hurdle and commitment is out of the way. Our flights are booked for March. We decided to make our big trip of the year into our anniversary trip. We decided to experiment with an airline new to us, bmi, I.e. British Midlands, as they were a little cheaper and hade more flights than our usual choices. Also booked the hotel for the few nights in Cairo and went with the Ramses Hilton.
While we’re usually trying to go somewhere neither of us have been to before it is not like the planet is not big enough to have lots of places worth visiting more than one. People seemed to agree with this as far as our choice for 2011 is concerned for thousands of years. In fact even the Romans developed our destination into a tourist attraction some 2,000 years ago. At that stage it was already some 2,000 years old. The choice 2011 is of course Egypt. So far we have planned it out as follows. 2-3 days in Cairo to visit Gizeh, a few markets, the museum, and have dinner with Di’s work mates. Then we will take the sleeper train to Luxor. The remaining 7 or so days we will explore Luxor, the Valley of Kings and lots of other places in the middle and south of Egypt. Any suggestions?
It’s decided, sort of, April 2012 we will got to Nepal for two weeks to do an Everest Base Camp trek.
While I’m voting for camping and trekking, Di insists on lodging an d trekking. As long as we go I can live with that.
While the are many tour operator out there our research lead us to going with KE Adventure.
2012 sorted. Hmm but it’s only 2010, what shall be our big trip in 2011? Any suggestions? Then there are so many more years to fill.
